BLUE BOX
Filmmaker Michal Weits takes a multi-faceted look at the complex legacy of her great-grandfather Joseph, a leading figure in JNF’s Blue Box campaign. Weits purchased land from Arab landowners for the early state of Israel. The process often involved displacing resident Arabs from the purchased land to make room both for new forests and for incoming Jewish immigrants, including many Holocaust survivors. The film includes excerpts from Joseph’s diaries from the period as well as interviews with family members and associates.
